Strata is crafted from thermo-spruce (spruce that has been heat treated to remove moisture and alter the wood’s cell structure), a light, durable timber with a rich tone. It typically has a straight grain with frequent small to medium sized knots. Thermo-spruce is brushed to highlight the grain’s texture, then factory-coated to create a stable, low-maintenance product with a clean, modern look. While the outlines of knots remain visible for a natural appearance, their colour is concealed beneath the finish. As a 70% PEFC-certified product, the timber used is sourced only from responsibly managed forests. The
VenDura finish, made up of all water based, toxin free coatings, extends the product lifespan of natural
timber.
