Accoya®, a modified timber species engineered for exceptional durability and consistency, features a straight, subtle grain with minimal knots. Its acetylation process gives it a uniform structure, which causes it to char differently from other species. The resulting char develops a very consistent colour, and the characteristic “cracked texture,” typically only visible in heavily charred wood, is apparent even with a light charring. Uncoated
Leaving cladding unfinished is perfectly acceptable. The timber will naturally weather over time and turn a silver/light grey colour.
